AILEEN
MORETON-ROBINSON:
ABORIGINAL INDIGENOUS
CONSTRUCTS
OF GENDER & SOVEREIGNTY
THROUGH
MULTI DIMENSIONAL
KINSHIP

Taking a pause, & moment to focus on Queer more-than-human Power.

The video clip is Aileen Moreton-Robinson sharing on power as relational, containing & enabling, discussing human power as circumscribed by the power of Mother Earth; & discussing the colonial/imperial constructs of gender.

In the clips she is talking about the limits of Foucault, through him never being free of enlightenment-produced knowledge & how this has created our ideas & politics of identity, notably as if it exists in a construct separate from nature, the forces which shape our universe, & notably as if it & our politics exist in a construct separate from empire’s processes of dispossession.

Indigenous worldviews and knowledge production occur through multidimensional kinships. This is queer practice, as Aileen makes note of in the full interview.

Aileen Moreton-Robinson shares Australian First Nations scholarship that exposed the blinding whiteness, and the serious limitations, of Australian feminist thought.
