‘Aproximal Distance’ - between a perceiver and what she perceives. The inner horizon of the self and the outer horizon of the thing. To increase of decreas the comfortable distance would mean we loose a grip of the thing.

Proximal Distance: expressing a realm of relation where the body is able to be held together
we can acknowlegde our sense of comfort but we push beyond this comfort, as more than human
